Foundation Skills for MSK Ultrasound
This course is designed to provide the practitioner with essential cognitive skills required for use of ultrasound imaging in MSK practice.
A home-based programme of practical instruction is facilitated by provision of an ultrasound scanner to each student. The series of remotely delivered interactive video conference sessions with accompanying practice exercises has been specficially designed to build up core skills in a progressive manner through repetition. To be conducted over a period of four weeks.

In order to perform image guided injections in your workplace you must conform to your local guidelines and competency requirements.
Our Foundation courses are specifically designed for people who have no previous scanning experience.

When you have registered you'll be asked to fill out a form which gives
us your preferred delivery details. Your Orca POD will be shipped to you
via DHL Express. You get to keep and use the Orca POD for the entire
duration of the course and we'll arrange the collection after the last
session/assessment.
We provide pre-course technical support to help you from the time you receive your Orca POD. Our team is available for one-on-one meetings before and between sessions to support you.
When someone is unable to attend a session a colleague can attend in their place.
The Course Fee includes the rental of the equipment for the entire
duration of the course as well as the tutor's fee, shipping, CPD points and certificate.

Course Tutor
Stewart is an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and Musculoskeletal Sonographer. He is the Clinical Director of Life Fit Wellness an independent healthcare and exercise facility in Falkirk, Scotland where he performs a high volume of diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections. Stewart has a BSc (Hons) in Sport & Exercise Science, MSc in Physiotherapy and following over 10 years of post-graduate experience he obtained a Diploma in Injection Therapy and a Pg Cert in MSK Medical Ultrasound from Glasgow Caledonian University. Stewart is passionate about how ultrasound can enhance patient care if used appropriately and is interested in the training process, clinical education and competency. He is also involved with research both as an independent researcher and as part of the Badminton World Federation Research Commission. He is currently exploring research ideas utilising ultrasound imaging in the field of sports injuries. Stewart is the course lead for the Foundations in MSK ultrasound Orca POD course and developed the content to ensure that each delegate gains the best possible start in their ultrasound journey to enhance their future learning.
